Disecciones rutinarias de tobillo nos han permi­tido observar diversas variaciones de alguna de las arterias principales implicadas en la forma­ción de la red periarticular del tobillo, las cuales nos hacen plantear su posible lesión durante la práctica artroscópica de tobillo. Los autores realizan un estudio anatómico sobre 16 tobillos con el objetivo de valorar la posibilidad de le­sión vascular al establecer los portales anterio­res y, en especial, del portal antero-lateral. Se realiza también una extensa revisión bibliográfi­ca sobre variaciones arteriales en dicha región, así como de cirugía artroscópica. Se enumeran las distintas variaciones arteriales halladas, la implicación de éstas en los portales anteriores y se describe una variante del portal antero­central clásico.

Abstract

Rutinary ankle dissections have allowed us to observe several variations of sorne of the main arteries related with the formation of the periar­ticular network of the ankle which lead us to consider possible injuries during arthroscopy of the ankle. The authors have performed an ana­tomicai study on 16 ankles in arder to assess the possibility of vascular injury when establis­hing the anterior portals, particularly the antero­lateral portal. An exhaustive revision of the bi­bliography on arterial variations of the region as well as on arthroscopic surgery has also been performed. The various arterial variations found, with their implication in the anterior portals, are enumerated, and a variation of the classical anterolateral portal is described.
