Summary

Para tratar la enfermedad acromioclavicular se debe conocer la anatomía de la articulación y las estructuras próximas que influyen en ella. Este conocimiento es necesario para saber diagnosticar cuál puede ser el origen de la dolencia, valorar cuáles son las estructuras que deben reconstruirse tras una lesión de la articulación y para conocer qué estructuras se deben respetar durante una cirugía de la misma. En este artículo se describe la anatomía ósea, la anatomía y función de los ligamentos que actúan sobre esta articulación, la biomecánica y la fisiopatología de la articulación acromioclavicular.

Abstract

In order to treat acromioclavicular disorders, one should know the anatomy of the joint and the nearby structures that influence it. This knowledge is necessary to know how to diagnose what may be the cause of the disorder, to assess which are the structures that must be rebuilt after a joint injury, and to know which structures should be respected during the surgery. In this article, the bony anatomy, the anatomy and function of the ligaments that act on this joint, biomechanics, and the pathophysiology of the acromioclavicular joint is presented.
